Inspired by a pair of glacier military goggles
Hapter concept is inspired by an old pair of glacier military goggles from the First World War that was found by founders-makers Eric and Mirko on a summit within the Dolomite mountains in 2009.
And thanks to its practical and functional design, good manufacturing technique and quality of materials used, after almost a century, the goggles were able to show their utility, and reverberated with the sense of relief and reassurance they must have provided to the soldier as he faced extreme conditions on that mountain.
With the same passion that guides them when they seek out and explore new peaks, the founders engaged in a rigorous research mission of materials and production techniques, to recreate, in a contemporary collection, the function and aesthetic of the military googles retrieved in 2009.
VIDEO THE ORIGIN
In the black and white sequences, filmed at the Cinque Torri in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Belluno, Italy the protagonist is a romantic hero, who, while confronting the harshness of the ascent up the mountain walls, is actually digging into the abyss of his soul to find the strength and self-awareness that will accompany him forever.
Inside the complex of smelting furnaces in the Valle Imperina, Belluno, Italy, the objects create a common thread between the narrative movements. Hammer, wedges, spikes that remind the protagonist of the emotion perceived on his climbs; these are sacred objects that belong to his symbolic universe – of his existence in the world
